BACOLOD CITY – A 52-year-old woman who allegedly turned to illegal drugs to pay for her treatment was arrested again in a buy-bust operation in her home in Purok Star Apple 2, Barangay 27 here on Monday, June 15.
City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) operatives seized 210 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.43 million from the subject identified only as Sapsap.
She was released from detention on June 1 following her arrest for drug peddling on Feb. 28.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU team leader, said the suspect was applying for probation when she was apprehended again.
Legada said they received information that the suspect was allegedly actively involved in illegal drug activities in Barangay 27 and adjacent villages.
A two-week monitoring revealed that she allegedly served as a keeper of illegal drugs and distributed them to her trusted downline customers, according to Legada.
The suspect was tagged as a high value individual and was listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC), Legada said.
