The Department of Education (DepEd) on Tuesday, June 16, assured support for several learners who were injured in an incident at a private school in General Trias, Cavite.
However, the agency did not disclose further details surrounding the incident.
DepEd said it is closely coordinating with school authorities and relevant government agencies to ensure that affected students receive the necessary support and assistance.
“We are closely coordinating with school authorities and relevant government agencies to ensure that the affected learners receive the necessary support, assistance, and appropriate interventions. Our regional and division offices remain on standby to provide additional assistance as needed,” it said in a statement.
As such, DepEd urged the public to respect the privacy, dignity, and rights of the children involved and refrain from spreading unverified information as authorities investigate the matter.
“As the matter involves minors, we urge the public to respect the privacy, dignity, and rights of all children involved and to refrain from spreading unverified information,” the agency said.
“We likewise ask everyone to allow the proper authorities to conduct a thorough and impartial investigation,” it added.
The education department stressed that ensuring the safety and well-being of learners remains among its top priorities.
“The safety, well-being, and mental health of our learners remain among the Department’s highest priorities,” it said.
