Chery Auto Philippines introduced the all-new QEV to the local market at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show.
The compact battery-electric vehicle was displayed at the Chery Super Hybrid Hub alongside the Tiggo rEV plug-in hybrid. The event also served as the Philippine introduction of Chery’s new global brand promise, “For the Family.”
“We know that a car is more than just transportation. It is part of our everyday lives, bringing our children to school, supporting our work and businesses, reconnecting us with loved ones, and creating moments that matter most.,” UAAGI Auto Group Deputy Director Joshua Sytin said.
Built for city driving
The QEV was developed primarily for urban use, with a compact body intended to make driving through congested roads and parking in tight spaces easier.
Chery claims a maximum electric driving range of 405 kilometers under the NEDC cycle. The QEV also supports DC fast charging, which can bring the battery from 30 to 80 percent in 16.5 minutes.
Its Vehicle-to-Load function allows the vehicle to supply electricity to compatible external devices. Storage consists of a rear cargo area, a compartment under the hood, and 38 smaller storage spaces around the cabin.
The equipment list includes ventilated seats, while the exterior features rounded Q-shaped LED headlamps and taillamps. Chery listed beige, red, and purple among the available colors.
The QEV has also received the Red Dot Design Award and iF Design Award.
Rear-wheel-drive platform
The QEV uses a rear-wheel-drive platform paired with independent rear suspension. Chery says the setup was tuned to provide responsive steering and balanced handling.
Its driver-assistance package includes Level 2 Intelligent Driving Assistance and a 540-degree Around View Monitor. The camera system gives the driver a wider view of the vehicle’s surroundings when parking or passing through narrow roads.
A 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen sits at the center of the dashboard. The infotainment system runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor and supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Other cabin features include a 50W wireless phone charger, voice controls, and configurable vehicle and infotainment settings.
“The All New Chery QEV invites you to see EVs differently: Not as machines of sacrifice, but vehicles of possibility. Not as status symbols, but lifestyle upgrades. Not as technology first, but human experience first,” Chery Auto Philippines Brand Head Franz Decloedt said.
Price and warranty
Chery Auto Philippines has opened reservations for the QEV at a suggested retail price of ₱1,120,000.
The vehicle comes with a 5-year or 150,000-kilometer warranty, whichever comes first. Its high-voltage electric vehicle components are covered for 8 years or 160,000 kilometers, whichever comes first.
Servicing and parts support will be handled through UAAGI Auto Group’s local aftersales network. The distributor has also trained technicians to service hybrid and electric vehicles through the UAAGI Center for Technical Excellence.
Tiggo rEV joins PIMS display
Chery also brought the Tiggo rEV to the motor show. The 7-seater plug-in hybrid electric vehicle combines a gasoline engine with an electric drive system and offers three rows of seating. It was displayed as Chery’s electrified option for buyers who need more passenger space than the compact QEV.
