The Valenzuela City government has deployed a 25-man Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) team to Sarangani Province to assist residents affected by the recent earthquake.
The city’s HADR Team, led by Mayor WES Gatchalian, was reported to be within the vicinity of Sarangani as of 10:40 a.m. while continuing its overland movement toward its designated deployment area.
The convoy is carrying essential response assets, including a water filtration system, mobile shower unit, ambulances, generator sets, a rescue vehicle, and a Starlink satellite communication system.
Local officials said the deployment aims to ensure the continuous delivery of essential services, particularly in remote and hard-to-reach areas affected by the earthquake.
Authorities added that the team remains in close coordination with local counterparts after entering Sarangani Province, with all equipment ready for immediate humanitarian deployment upon arrival at the assigned operational sites.
