Muntinlupa fugitive arrested in Northern Samar after 14 years in hiding

A man wanted for an attempted homicide case in Muntinlupa City was arrested in Northern Samar after evading authorities for 14 years.
The suspect, known by the alias Alberto, 53, and a resident of Barangay Tula, Pambujan, Northern Samar, was apprehended on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued on July 29, 2012, by Presiding Judge Jacob Montesa II of the Muntinlupa Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 80. Bail had been set at ₱12,000.
Personnel from the Muntinlupa Police Warrant and Subpoena Unit served the warrant at the Northern Samar Police Provincial Office following nationwide operations and inter-unit coordination that tracked down Alberto’s location.
He is now under police custody. The warrant will be returned to the court.
Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco, district director of the Southern Police District, commended the arrest, describing it as a result of the police force’s determination to locate and apprehend wanted persons.
