QCPD medical unit serves 2,220 cops, civilians, detainees in one-week initiative
Recognizing that effective policing begins from within, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) intensified its internal support systems, delivering healthcare, welfare assistance, and operational upgrades that benefited more than 2,200 individuals while strengthening frontline readiness from June 7 to 13, 2026.
Under the leadership of District Director PBGen. Randy Glenn Silvio, the district implemented a series of administrative initiatives aimed at reinforcing personnel welfare, boosting morale, and enhancing the overall capability of its units.
At the forefront of these efforts was the QCPD Medical and Dental Unit (MDU), which provided services to 2,220 beneficiaries, including police personnel, their dependents, civilians, and Persons Under Police Custody (PUPCs). Services included medical consultations and treatment, health monitoring of PUPCs, chest X-ray examinations, and dental care. The unit also supported the government’s Ligtas Tigdas Campaign 2026, contributing to measles-rubella immunization efforts.
The district also recognized the importance of motivating its workforce, conferring 9,070 commendations and 738 awards to personnel for their dedication, discipline, and performance in public service.
Beyond internal initiatives, QCPD sustained its community engagement efforts, conducting 227 activities across various barangays in Quezon City.
To ensure operational efficiency, the district facilitated the repair and maintenance of 31 service vehicles, improving the mobility and response capability of its stations and operating units.
Meanwhile, the QCPD Damayan Program, through the Office of the District Executive Senior Police Officer (ODESPO), extended burial assistance worth P20,000 to Police Corporal Jumar Apolinar of Police Station 10, providing financial support to his family during their time of bereavement.
The QCPD Kids Care Program also granted a total of P160,000 in financial assistance to 32 dependents of QCPD personnel in recognition of their academic and sports achievements.
“Behind every successful police operation is a strong administrative foundation that supports our personnel and enables them to perform their duties effectively,” Silvio said.
