Student chases snatcher, recovers gold necklace in Mandaluyong

A 23-year-old student chased down a motorcycle-riding snatcher in Mandaluyong City and recovered his stolen P30,000 gold necklace during a brief scuffle on June 11.

The Mandaluyong City Police Station said the the victim was walking along Sheridan Street in Barangay Highway Hills when the motorcycle-riding suspect suddenly grabbed his gold necklace.
Authorities said the victim immediately chased the suspect and managed to recover the stolen necklace during a brief scuffle. However, the snatcher managed to flee onboard his motorcycle.
A security officer who witnessed the incident, together with responding personnel from Sub-Station 3, immediately pursued the fleeing suspect, resulting in his arrest along Shaw Boulevard in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City.
The suspect is now in police custody and is facing charges for robbery snatching.
