BACOLOD CITY – A 36-year-old high school teacher was allegedly stabbed to death by a 24-year-old Grade 12 student in his house in Barangay Alijis here on Friday, June 12.
Education Program Specialist II RJ Paglomutan, Department of Education (DepEd)-Bacolod Schools Division spokesperson, confirmed the incident, but did not disclose more information as investigation is ongoing.
Paglomutan said the victim’s family appealed for privacy and understanding during this difficult time.
He added that the incident has reached the DepEd-Bacolod head and they will release a statement once the investigation is completed.
Police Capt. Jay-r Reyes, head of Police Station 7, said lawmen found the victim’s body when they responded to a commotion in the area around 11:55 p.m.
Reyes said they are awaiting the autopsy result determining the cause of death and the victim’s injuries.
Limited information has been released by authorities over the incident.
The suspect is under police custody. Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
