Over P1.6 million worth of shabu and a firearm were seized from four individuals during a buy-bust operation in Rodriguez, Rizal, early Saturday morning, June 13.
The Rodriguez Municipal Police Station (MPS) identified the suspects as “Mitch,” 22; “Bunso,” 24; “Jerson,” 26; and “Nine,” 34. They were arrested by the Drug Enforcement Team in Barangay San Jose.
Seized from them were about 240 grams of shabu valued at P1,632,000, a .45-caliber firearm, three live rounds of ammunition, and a weighing scale.
The suspects are now in the custody of the Rodriguez MPS and will face charges for violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and other related offenses.
Lt. Col. Arwynn D. Gaffud, chief of the Rodriguez MPS, described the operation as a major setback for drug pushers in the town. He vowed to sustain intensified efforts against illegal drugs while ensuring peace and security in the community.
