FEU parts ways with Lady Tams coach Tina Salak

Far Eastern University has parted ways with seasoned coach Tina Salak after leading its women’s volleyball program in the past four seasons, the school announced Saturday morning, June 13.
Salak guided the Lady Tamaraws, led by Tin Ubaldo and Gerz Petallo, to back-to-back Final Four appearances in the UAAP Season 86 and 87 before falling short for a semifinal berth in Season 88 where it settled for a fifth-place finish with an 8-6 card.
Under her guidance, Salak almost brought back FEU to the finals in Season 86 after drawing first blood against twice-to-beat holder and eventual champion National University in the semis.
“We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Tina Salak for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the team over the past four seasons,” FEU wrote on its social media post.
“Her dedication, passion, and tireless efforts have played a significant role in shaping our program and elevating our standards both on and off the field,” it added.
Salak will now be focusing on her professional coaching career with the Akari Chargers in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL).
“This is a well-deserved opportunity, and we are confident she will make a meaningful impact in the next chapter of her coaching career,” the Morayta-based squad continued. “We thank Coach Tina once again for everything she has given to the FEU volleyball program.”
