2 seniors killed in SUV crash in Ilocos Norte

BADOC, Ilocos Norte – Two senior citizens were killed and four were injured after a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) plunged into a creek in Barangay Santa Cruz Norte here on Friday night, June 12.
Police said the 69-year-old male driver from Abra allegedly fell asleep while driving and lost control of the gray Toyota Fortuner SUV. The vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and plunged into a creek.
The driver and five passengers sustained injuries and taken to hospitals for treatment.
One of the passengers was declared dead on arrival at the Sinait District Hospital in Ilocos Sur. Another passenger died at the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Batac City, Ilocos Norte.
Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
