2 dead in multiple collision in Quezon

PAGBILAO, Quezon – A truck driver and his helper were killed and eight persons were injured in a multiple collision in Sitio Upper Sapinit, Barangay Silangang Malicboy, this town, before dawn on Friday, June 12.
Police said a 10-wheel truck driven by Arsenio, 36, loaded with basic commodities suffered mechanical failure on a downhill sharp curve and hit a 10-wheel truck driven by Edwin, 61, who was unhurt.
Arsenio's truck moved forward, crashed into a house, and ran over two parked motorcycles, before colliding head-on with a DLTB bus driven by Orlando, 52, who was also unhurt.
Arsenio and a helper were killed. Their other helper, Angelito, 47, and seven bus passengers were injured and taken to the hospital in Lucena City.
Clean-up operations were conducted following the accident and follow-up investigation is underway.
