Zamboanga City celebrates Independence Day

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Zamboanga City honored the country’s national heroes and underscored the need to preserve the values they imparted during the 128th Independence Day celebration at the City Hall grounds on Friday.
This year’s theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” focused on remembering the country’s heroes and their contributions toward gaining independence for the country.
The program began with a prayer and the singing of the national anthem before a wreath-laying ceremony at Plaza Rizal.
Mayor Khymer Olaso called on Zamboangueños to embody the ideals of the country’s national heroes while preserving the values they imparted.
