The Nationals allowed the Thais to keep in step with them through the first frame before opening the floodgates in the middle quarters to cruise to the 35-point win and perfect 3-0 record in the group A standings.
Prince Carino asserted his size advantage inside the paint, putting up 18 points to go with four rebounds and a block. Four other Filipinos finished in double figures as Gilas broke the game wide open after a slim 21-15 lead at the end of the opening frame.
Hans Patagoc chipped in 15 points while Joaquin Tovera added 13 points, seven assists and three steals. Ethan Matthew Aguas and Lino Tubongbanua Jr. had 12 and 11, respectively.
The 35-point win came after Gilas routed Vietnam with a 93-point win, 121-28, before taking down Singapore with a 60-point beating, 110-50.
