Road closures, rerouting set in Manila for June 12–13 events
Several major roads in Manila will be temporarily closed starting 10 p.m. on June 12 until June 13 to give way to scheduled activities, authorities said.
Among the affected areas are portions of Roxas Boulevard, Bonifacio Drive, P. Burgos Avenue, Finance Road, and key streets within the Intramuros district, including Muralla and A. Soriano Avenue.
Westbound lanes of Kalaw Avenue and Quirino Avenue, as well as parts of Maria Orosa Street and surrounding roads, will likewise be affected.
To manage traffic flow, rerouting schemes will be implemented.
Motorists from Bonifacio Drive will be advised to turn around at Anda Circle, while those from the Binondo-Intramuros area may use A. Soriano Avenue westbound.
Heavy vehicles, including trailer trucks from the Pasay area, will not be allowed along Roxas Boulevard northbound and will instead be diverted to Pres. Quirino Avenue. Trucks from Mel Lopez Boulevard (R-10) will be redirected to inner roads, following the designated truck route.
Authorities reminded motorists to expect traffic congestion in affected areas and to take alternate routes.
They added that the actual implementation of road closures and reopening will depend on the traffic situation on the ground.
