Air Force Reserve Brig. Gen. Mikee Romero, Tactical Operations Wing Reserve-Northern Luzon commander, and Col. Floreto Solano, TOWR-Southern Luzon Wing commander, were recently honored with the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Joint Special Operations Command tan beret.
Romero, now JSOC Reservist No. 1, in a statement said it recognized all his hard work as a key figure in the AFP Reserve Force.
The chairman of the Association of the Reservists and Reservist Administrators of the Philippines Inc. said their recognition was a testament to the trust and confidence of AFP-JSOC to reservists who have shown exemplary leadership, dedication, and commitment to advancing the command's mission.
AFP-JSOC commander Major Gen. Rosendo C. Abad led the recent donning ceremony that made Solano JSOC Reservist No. 2.
The AFP-JSOC tan beret is the official headgear worn by operators and personnel assigned to the country’s premier unified command for special operations.
Romero advocates the Total Defense Force formula, a whole-of-nation approach that integrates active duty forces, reservists, veterans, government agencies, local government units, the private sector, and civilian stakeholders into a unified national defense framework.
It seeks to maximize the capabilities of the nation's reserve force as a strategic force multiplier in defense, disaster resilience, homeland security, and nation-building.
AFP-JSOC is the unified special operations command and umbrella organization of the AFP's seven most elite fighting units spread nationwide – the 1st Scout Ranger Regiment, Special Forces Regiment (Airborne), Light Reaction Regiment, Naval Special Operations Command, Force Reconnaissance Group, 710th Special Operations Wing, and the AFP JSOC K-9 Platoon.
