SAN FERNANDO CITY, Pampanga – The provincial government of Pampanga led by Gov. Lilia Pineda and Vice Gov. Dennis Pineda provided financial assistance to seven families affected by the recent collapse of a building in Angeles City.
They received P20,000 each and 25 kilograms of rice during a ceremony at the Bren Z. Guiao Convention Center here.
The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) said 19 out of the 30 families have so far received assistance.
Other families are expected to receive help in the coming days.
Meanwhile, responders have been demobilized following the end of retrieval and clearing operations at the collapsed building.
Operations started on May 24 and ended June 10, for a total of 18 days.
Responsible Officer Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II, during a demobilization briefing conducted by the Unified Command, discussed the status of clearing operations, site conditions, and the gradual withdrawal of personnel and resources deployed during the rescue and recovery efforts.
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) reported that approximately 95 percent of the debris at the site has been cleared through the combined efforts of government agencies, rescuers, technical teams, volunteers, and heavy equipment operators.
Lazatin conducted a site inspection and thanked responders and partner agencies for their efforts throughout the operation.
