BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) deployed 2,197 personnel across the region to secure the 128th Anniversary of Philippine Independence on Friday, June 12.
They will be deployed and strategically positioned in key cities and municipalities to ensure safe and orderly celebrations, with focus on convergence areas hosting flag-raising ceremonies, civic and cultural programs, wreath-laying activities, and other large public gatherings.
“Sa paggunita ng Araw ng Kalayaan, patuloy na pinagtitibay ng PRO-NIR ang ating tungkulin na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat mamamayan. Hinihikayat natin ang lahat na makiisa at makipagtulungan sa ating mga kapulisan upang mapanatili ang mapayapa at maayos na pagdiriwang sa buong rehiyon (In observance of the Independence Day, we continue to strengthen our mandate to ensure the safety of the public. We encouraged everyone to unite and cooperate to authorities to maintain a peaceful and orderly celebration across the region),” said Police Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño, PRO-NIR director.
The PRO-NIR will enhance police visibility, step up mobile patrols, checkpoints, and traffic assistance, and establish police assistance desks in major areas to ensure peace and order.
