Eight years ago, Yen Santos disappeared from the spotlight.

Today, she's finally ready to tell the story of what happened after the cameras stopped rolling.

Once considered one of her generation's brightest stars, Yen quietly stepped away from showbiz following her highly publicized relationship with actor Paolo Contis.

And just like that, the spotlight moved on.

But life didn't stop for Yen. It simply got quieter.

Behind the absence was a long period of rebuilding, reflection, and rediscovery.

"Mahaba ang proseso pero kailangan," she told us recently.

"Sobrang hirap pero kailangan kong pagdaanan yun para mahanap ko ulit yung sarili ko."

Somewhere along the way, she admits, she lost her sense of self.

"Nawala ko yung kung sino ako. Hindi na ako productive, hindi ko na nagawa ang gusto ko..."

Now, after years away, Yen is finally stepping back into the industry.

She returns through the upcoming Prime Video series "The Loyalty Game," marking her official comeback after eight years.

And she knows exactly what that opportunity means.

"Alam kong hindi lahat nabibigyan ng pagkakataon na makabalik pagkatapos ng ganun kahabang panahon," she said.

For Yen, however, this comeback isn't about reclaiming the past. It's about rebuilding herself and embracing the person she has become.

"I'm very grateful for this chance, yung tiwala at suportang binigay sa akin ng ABS-CBN, ng Star Magic, ng Star Creatives...so, ako talaga, I just want to repay that by doing my best."

As for regrets, she admits there are a few, but she no longer dwells on them.

Instead, she carries the lessons with her.

The biggest one?

"Pwede kang magmahal ng sobra, pero huwag mong kakalimutan kung sino ka."

Today, what she carries is clarity.

And she is determined not to lose herself again.

"Ngayon ako babawi. Natuto na ako. Hindi na mauulit."

Asked how she would describe herself now, Yen says she's more grounded, more self-aware, and more certain of who she is.

And while she hasn't closed the door on love, she knows she won't approach it the same way again.

"Mas natutunan kong mahalin ang sarili ko ngayon."
