TACLOBAN CITY – A 45-year-old farmer was allegedly hacked to death by his stepfather on Tuesday, June 9, in Barangay Naulayan, Matag-ob, Leyte.
Police identified the victim as Nilo.
Initial investigation revealed the victim was drunk and tried to hack a dog.
The suspect, Des, 62, farmer, of Barangay Naulayan, pacified the victim who was enraged and attacked and wounded the suspect in the body with a “sundang” or machete.
The suspect managed to seize the weapon and hacked the victim multiple times who died on the spot.
Responding lawmen found the body of the victim outside the suspect’s house and recovered the 24-inch-long murder weapon.
The suspect was brought to the Matag-ob MPS for documentation and proper disposition.
