Boeing supplier sets up long-term Clark aerospace facility
State-run Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) has signed a 25-year lease agreement with Heatcon Asia Inc., a Boeing supplier specializing in composite repair solutions, as part of efforts to strengthen Clark’s aviation and aerospace industry.
In a statement on Wednesday, June 10, CIAC said the agreement will pave the way for the establishment of Heatcon’s manufacturing, material distribution, and in-shop composite repair facility within Clark Civil Aviation Complex.
CIAC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jojit Alcazar and Heatcon Asia president Howard Victor Banasky signed the contract last Tuesday, June 9, during a ceremony attended by officials from both organizations.
“This investment represents a significant milestone in Clark’s continued emergence as a leading aviation and aerospace hub,” Alcazar said.
“Heatcon’s facilities support major aviation players in the region, including Boeing, and are expected to further strengthen Clark’s position as an attractive destination for aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services,” the CIAC chief added.
Founded in 1978, Heatcon manufactures hot bonders, heat blankets, and process materials used by commercial as well as military aviation operators worldwide.
The company said the Clark facility would serve as a strategic hub for its expanding customer base across the Asia-Pacific region and support its global expansion plans.
“Today’s signing formalizes a partnership rooted in innovation and global excellence. It highlights Clark’s readiness to support the growing demands of the global aerospace industry while advancing our vision of developing Clark Aviation Capital,” Alcazar said.
“We thank Heatcon for its trust and investment in CIAC. Their growth is our growth, and we are committed to supporting the long-term success of their operations here. We hope this partnership serves as the launchpad for decades of shared success, innovation, and growth,” he added.
CIAC is pursuing plans to develop Clark Civil Aviation Complex into Clark Aviation Capital, envisioned as an aviation-driven hub for manufacturing, logistics, and related industries.
As the land and aviation development arm of state-run Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), CIAC is tasked with attracting industrial, commercial, warehousing, as well as high-technology manufacturing investments to Clark.
