CEBU CITY – The construction of a mall that is seen to spark employment and economic growth in the province of Bohol will push through.
Gov. Aris Aumentado gave this assurance to Boholanos as the construction of the first-ever SM mall in the province has yet to start even after its groundbreaking last year.
The massive project broke ground in February last year. The three-story complex will rise on a six-hectare area in Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
Pending the issuance of the Environmental Compliance Certificate, construction of the project has yet to start.
Aumentado, however, assured that the project will push through as planned.
The governor recently posted on Facebook his recent meeting with SM Prime Holdings Chairman Hans Sy.
Aurmentado said the development’s implementation was discussed during the meeting.
He encouraged Boholanos to remain confident about the project, emphasizing its potential contribution to employment generation, business growth, and economic development in the province. “Let us continue to support a project that will give our province more progress,” said Aumentado.
The governor said the project is expected to create numerous job opportunities and open new avenues for local enterprises while further strengthening Bohol’s growing economy.
The governor added that the planned SM Bohol development will further enhance commercial activity and attract additional business opportunities in the province.
