A 31-year-old fugitive facing a drug case in Albay was arrested in a Quezon City buy-bust past 2 a.m. Saturday, June 6.
Police recovered suspected shabu worth over ₱2,000 and confirmed that the suspect had a standing warrant of arrest in his home province.
The suspect was collared on Diego Silang Street in Barangay Dioquino Zobel, Project 4, Quezon City.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the suspect was allegedly involved in drug distribution in Cubao and Project 4.
Authorities said background verification showed he had a standing warrant of arrest, adding that he may have transferred to Quezon City to evade the case filed against him.
Lt. Col. Geoffrey Lim said investigators are still validating possible links of the suspect to other drug personalities in the city.
The suspect denied the allegations, saying he only used illegal drugs and claimed he believed his probation had already been completed, prompting him to go to Manila for work.
He is now under the custody of the Project 4 Police Station and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
