Parts of the BenCab Museum feel as if you’ve transported yourself into a separate fantasy world.
If you’ve ever found yourself on a journey to the North, the BenCab Museum is a must-visit. Aside from the arts, the museum acts as a sanctuary of sorts for nature. There’s a hiking trail you can go through that lets you bask in the wonder of nature. You’ll encounter plenty of free-roaming animals along the way that look chunky and healthy. One particular animal that stands out is a cute little duck with a sort of afro. There are also varieties of poultry to look out for that have remarkable feathers to admire. Their eggs were tempting to take home.
Aside from the animals, there are also countless plants for plantitos and plantitas to identify. Along the path, you’ll encounter cherry tomatoes, coffee bean plants, and the beautiful yet ever-so-deadly angel’s trumpets. For the true spirit of adventure, there’s a hanging bridge to cross by as well. Just try not to move too much; it’s a nerve-wracking experience when the bridge dangles. Worth checking out as well are the recreated indigenous homes. There’s a unique design to the raised houses that presents a glimpse into the rich history of our past.

If the trail took a lot out of you, Café Sabel is the place to chill and recuperate from the hike. It provides a view of the duck pond and forest trail. Ingredients are also fresh, coming from BenCab’s organic farm. Best place to enjoy the view with a pastry and drink.
For the museum experience, it’s an absolute treat to go through the artworks on display. Plenty of paintings to admire, and there’s an entire room dedicated to iconic greats like Ang Kiukok, Victorio Edades, and Juvenal Sanso, to name a few. Of course, many of BenCab’s works are also on display. A personal favorite is the paintings that feel larger than life, occupying entire walls.
BenCab Museum is located along Km. 6 Asin Road in Tadiangan, Tuba, Benguet.
