The race to realize the UN Sustainable Development Goals by 2030 seems more arduous as the years pass and more problems arise. Sustainable development demands multi-sectoral collaboration and intentional action.
The UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network was established in 2012 by the former UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon and world-renowned economist and professor Jeffrey Sachs. Launched in 2015, SDSN Philippines is the Philippine chapter of institutes and non-governmental organizations that contribute to the attainment of the UN SDGs.
De La Salle University (DLSU) was endorsed as the SDSN Philippines’ official host institution in February 2025 and will serve as the network host until 2027. The secretariat of SDSN Philippines is based at the De La Salle University Sustainability Office (USO), which coordinates DLSU's sustainability-oriented programs and initiatives.
De La Salle University – USO organizes SDSN Philippines’ core events, coordinates with member institutions to realize programs, and processes membership applications. Empower your institution to act for sustainable development by visiting the SDSN Philippines Membership Page: sdsnphilippines.com/become-a-member. Membership, event participation, and access to resources are free.
Most recently, SDSN Philippines, through DLSU and Ateneo de Naga University, held its second national roadshow in Naga City, the SDSN Philippines Luzon Roadshow: Localizing SDG Catch-Up Plans: University-Town Partnerships for a Sustainable Future. The event served as a regional platform for dialogue, learning, and collaboration among stakeholders committed to sustainable development. Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo was the keynote speaker, with University of Nueva Caceres President Dr. Fay Lea Patria Lauraya, Libmanan City Mayor Edelson Marfil, and Provincial Board Member of Albay Atty.
