Motorists are advised to expect temporary traffic rerouting in parts of Parañaque City on Wednesday, June 10, as the city hosts the second-quarter meeting of the Regional Peace and Order Council–National Capital Region (RPOC-NCR).
According to Parañaque Mayor Edwin Olivarez, the meeting will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the People’s Hall on the 9th Floor of the Legislative Building in Parañaque City. It is expected to draw around 150 participants, including local chief executives, regional government officials, and representatives from various national agencies.
Muntinlupa Mayor and RPOC chairperson Rufino “Ruffy” Biazon will lead the event, which will focus on key peace and order concerns affecting Metro Manila.
Olivarez said one of the major agenda items is the presentation of the current peace and order situation in the National Capital Region by Major Gen. Anthony Aberin, Regional Director of the National Capital Region Police Office.
He added that discussions will cover violations of local ordinances under the Safer Cities initiative and crime incidents involving individuals allegedly posing as transport network vehicle service (TNVS) riders.
The mayor said traffic management measures, including rerouting and the deployment of traffic personnel, will be implemented in the vicinity of the venue to ensure the smooth flow of vehicles and the safe arrival of delegates attending the meeting.
The Regional Peace and Order Council–National Capital Region is mandated to formulate plans, coordinate programs, and monitor the implementation of initiatives aimed at maintaining peace, order, and public safety across Metro Manila.
The council also regularly assesses prevailing security concerns and recommends policies and interventions to address emerging threats.
