CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – The Police Regional Office 4-A said the opening of classes Monday in the Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon region was generally peaceful.
Police Brig. Gen. Hansel Marantan, PRO 4-A director, said that as part of security and public safety preparations, 4,538 police officers, assisted by 144 personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), as well as 1,617 force multipliers, were deployed in schools, main roads, terminals, and other crowded areas throughout the region.
Three hundred thirty-one police public assistance desks were established and lawmen visited and provided assistance to 5,149 schools.
Marantan said high police visibility will be maintained in schools to prevent threats to students' security and ensure a safe learning environment.
“It is our priority to keep our schools safe and secure so that students can fully develop their learning skills and prevent any type of crime that may threaten their well-being,” said Marantan.
