Death toll due to M7.8 quake in Sarangani rises to 35, OCD says

The reported death toll due to the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that jolted Sarangani has risen to 35, the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) said on Monday night, June 8.
Thirty-one fatalities were in Soccsksargen (Region 12) while four were in Davao (Region 11) as of 8 p.m.
Of the 31 dead in Region 12, there were 17 fatalities in Sarangani, 12 in General Santos City, and two in South Cotabato.
There were also 144 injured, while four others were missing in General Santos City.
"These are all still for validation," OCD deputy spokesperson Diego Mariano said.
