Baguio court sentences drug dealer to life

BAGUIO CITY – A court here has sentenced a drug pusher to life imprisonment following his arrest in a buy-bust operation last year.
The Regional Trial Court Branch 3 found the accused, Jong, guilty of violating Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In addition to the life sentence, the court ordered the convict to pay a fine of P500,000.
Jong was arrested in a sting operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera on July 16, 2025 in Barangay Pinsao Pilot, Baguio City.
Authorities seized two tied plastic bags containing 150 grams of shabu from the suspect.
