Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Gears of War: E-Day goes exclusive, Persona 6 announced, and a jam-packed lineup
The Xbox Games Showcase 2026 ended with genuine surprises. The event was immediately followed by the dedicated Gears of War: E-Day Direct, giving fans an in-depth look at one of the most anticipated Xbox games in years. Here's everything that happened.
Gears of War: E-Day
The console wars has started once again. This game is a prequel, focusing in how Marcus Fenix first started fighting the Locust. The game will launch on October 6.
Fable
One of the most hyped up fantasy games, Fable, is launching on February 23, 2027. It featured the game's antagonist, Isabel, while giving a glance of gameplay.
Halo: Campaign Evolved
This July, three new missions were shown for Halo: Campaign Evolved. There will be flying missions included and are featured as prequels, about one year before the ring.
Persona 6: World Premiere announcement
It is finally good to get some kind of confirmation that Persona 6 is still around. The teaser shows a dark tone, which is typical of Persona, considering the first three OG games were pretty dark, and the teaser of Persona 5 hinted a dark tone. No other information was revealed, so we'll have to wait some more.
Persona 4 Revival
We may not be getting a P6 soon, but we are getting a remake of P4, which is great news. It's coming early next year.
Other Major Announcements
A new Senua game was announced, with the title simply being "Senua," which signals a subtle rebranding and a new direction in how they will take on the game.
A new Spyro game was also shown subbed "A Realm Beyond" and it's about time we start getting our mascot characters back. It's been a while.
Doom: Dark Ages gets its a DLC called Revelations, and State of Decay 3 has been revealed to have a 2027 release.
Minecraft Dungeons II is set for September, and Moden Warfare 4 will see DMZ extraction mode.
One of the highlights is Clockwork Revolution, which has given me strong Dishonored and Bioshock vibes is set for an Xbox console exlusivity, and the game is looking very interesting.
Microsoft also celebrated Xbox's 25th anniversary with the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition — a translucent design drawing inspiration from the original Xbox — and the Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, featuring the original ABXY colors and bumpers honoring the classic "Duke" controller's black and white buttons.
