Wanted robbery suspect caught with gun, grenade in Taguig

Police arrested a 26-year-old man wanted for robbery after spotting him with a firearm at an impounding compound in Barangay Cembo, Taguig City, on Saturday, June 6.
Intelligence operatives had been conducting surveillance at around 4:15 p.m. when intelligence operatives spotted the suspect, identified as alias Justine, 26, handling a firearm.
Upon approach, police identified themselves and asked for documentation, which the suspect failed to provide, leading to his arrest.
Recovered from him were a .38-caliber revolver loaded with three rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade.
Further verification revealed that the suspect had an outstanding warrant of arrest for robbery-holdup, issued on May 28 by Presiding Judge Joseph Jerry Bañares Jr. of Parañaque Regional Trial Court Branch 195, with bail set at ₱100,000.
Police served the warrant following his apprehension.
The suspect now faces charges for violations of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act 9516 (Illegal Possession of Explosives).
