Toyota Motor Philippines has opened reservations for the all-new Land Cruiser FJ and Land Cruiser 300 HEV starting June 4, giving the Land Cruiser name two distinct new directions in the local market.
Land Cruiser FJ
The all-new Land Cruiser FJ arrives as a compact body-on-frame 4x4 with the upright shape, short overhangs, and squared-off look buyers would expect from a Land Cruiser. At close to 4.6 meters long, it is much easier to imagine in daily city use than the larger models, but Toyota has kept the hardware needed to give it proper off-road credibility. Ground clearance is listed at 245 mm, and the spec sheet includes differential lock, Auto Limited Slip Differential, and Active Traction Control.
Power comes from Toyota’s 2.7-liter 2TR-FE four-cylinder gasoline engine with dual VVT-i. Local buyers may remember this as the same basic engine family once offered in the second-generation Fortuner before that model became diesel-only in the Philippine market. In the Land Cruiser FJ, it produces 166 PS at 5,200 rpm and 245 Nm at 4,000 rpm, matched to a 6-speed automatic and a 4x4 drivetrain. Suspension is double wishbone in front and multi-link at the rear.
Toyota says LC FJ stands for Land Cruiser Freedom & Joy, and the model is clearly being positioned as the more personal and more flexible member of the family. Two variants will be offered locally. The TX is close to 4.6 meters long, 1.86 meters wide, and 1.89 meters tall, with 17-inch steel wheels, C-shaped LED headlamps, a 9-inch display audio system, synthetic leather seats, a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, and a back monitor.
The VX keeps the same basic footprint but stands a bit taller at nearly 2.0 meters high. It adds 18-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, a skid plate, side step, leather trim for the steering wheel and shift knob, a 12.3-inch display audio system, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Panoramic View Monitor, and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0. Available colors are Smoky Blue, Oxide Bronze Mica, Platinum White Pearl Mica, Ash, and Attitude Black Mica.
The Land Cruiser FJ TX is priced at ₱2,235,000, while the VX is priced at ₱2,575,000. Reservations are open through Toyota’s online reservation page.
Land Cruiser 300 HEV
Toyota has also started pre-selling for the Land Cruiser 300 HEV, the new hybrid version of its full-size SUV. It keeps the LC300’s seven-seat layout, 4x4 system, and flagship role, but adds a gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain to a model better known locally in diesel form.
Power comes from a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 gasoline engine working with a 1-motor hybrid system. The engine produces 415 PS at 5,200 rpm and 650 Nm from 2,000 to 3,600 rpm, while the motor generator adds 49 PS and 250 Nm. A 10-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels. Toyota also gives the HEV electric power steering, 234 mm of ground clearance, 20-inch alloy wheels, differential lock, torque-sensing limited-slip differential, Adaptive Variable Suspension, and a multi-link rear suspension.
Toyota gives the hybrid model its own look with an Aero body kit and Jet-Black Garnish. Other features include split-type LED headlamps with sequential turn signals, a moonroof, illuminated side steps, a power back door with kick sensor, leather seats, dual rear entertainment screens, a 12.3-inch full-digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, and a 14-speaker JBL sound system.
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 is standard, bringing Pre-Collision System, Adaptive High Beam System, Lane Tracing Assist, Lane Departure Alert, and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. The LC300 HEV also comes with Blind Spot Monitor, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Safe Exit Assist, Crawl Control, Turn Assist, Panoramic View Monitor, Multi Terrain Monitor, and front and rear clearance sonar.
The Land Cruiser 300 HEV is priced at ₱6,930,000 in Attitude Black Mica, Silver Metallic, and Gray Metallic. Units finished in Precious White Pearl are priced at ₱6,945,000. Reservations may be made through authorized Toyota dealerships nationwide.
