Police in Muntinlupa City began securing schools on June 8 as classes opened, deploying officers to campuses and activating a command center to protect students, teachers, and parents.
Acting police chief Col. Olivia Ancheta led inspections at Tunasan National High School, checking entry and exit points, nearby streets, and transport terminals to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow.
“Our goal is simple: to give the community peace of mind so learners can focus on their education and parents feel confident their children are safe. Close coordination with school administrators and visible police presence are key to achieving this,” Ancheta said.
The Muntinlupa police said monitoring and patrol operations will be intensified across public and private schools in coordination with education officials and the city government.
Meanwhile, the Schools Division Office (SDO) established a Public Assistance Command Center to handle concerns and provide frontline support for an orderly opening of classes.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon earlier assured that the city government was fully prepared for the school opening.
