3,800 PRO 8 personnel deployed to secure class opening

TACLOBAN CITY — A total of 3,818 personnel from the Police Regional Office 8 have been deployed to 4,178 schools to ensure safety and security during the opening of classes on Monday.
‎
‎Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, PRO 8 director, said they activated their security coverage under Oplan Balik-Eskwela 2026–2027 on June 1.
‎
‎PRO 8 established 373 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) with 738 personnel.
‎
‎They are supported by 569 mobile patrol units and 667 foot patrols to increase police visibility.
‎
‎Capoy said the deployment affirms their commitment to maintaining peace and order in and around school premises and ensuring the safety of students as they return to school.
‎
‎He urged the public to stay vigilant and work with authorities to promote a safe and successful school year.
