3,800 PRO 8 personnel deployed to secure class opening

TACLOBAN CITY — A total of 3,818 personnel from the Police Regional Office 8 have been deployed to 4,178 schools to ensure safety and security during the opening of classes on Monday.
Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy, PRO 8 director, said they activated their security coverage under Oplan Balik-Eskwela 2026–2027 on June 1.
PRO 8 established 373 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) with 738 personnel.
They are supported by 569 mobile patrol units and 667 foot patrols to increase police visibility.
Capoy said the deployment affirms their commitment to maintaining peace and order in and around school premises and ensuring the safety of students as they return to school.
He urged the public to stay vigilant and work with authorities to promote a safe and successful school year.
