The Parañaque City government recognized more than 300 members of the Lupon Tagapamayapa (Peace Committee) for their invaluable contributions to maintaining peace, order, and harmony in their respective barangays during a recognition program held on June 5.
Mayor Edwin Olivarez emphasized that the Lupon Tagapamayapa plays a vital role in the country’s grassroots justice system by helping settle disputes through amicable means, preventing minor conflicts from escalating into court cases.
He noted that Lupon members foster understanding and strengthen relationships within communities through mediation and conciliation efforts.
Several outstanding Lupon members received awards and citations for their dedicated service.
Among those honored was “Aling Nenita,” who was recognized for her 19 years of service as a Lupon Tagapamayapa member. She received a ₱12,000 incentive.
As part of the city’s support, Lupon members will now receive a monthly allowance of ₱2,000.
Mayor Olivarez underscored that their efforts in resolving complaints through amicable settlements not only reduce conflicts but also contribute to the overall well-being of residents.
He said the recognition program highlighted the crucial role of the Lupon Tagapamayapa in building a more peaceful and orderly Parañaque, while honoring the dedication of individuals who continue to serve as frontliners in community dispute resolution.
