Woman stabs 2 kids, herself in Batangas

TANAUAN CITY, Batangas – A 30-year-old woman suffering from post-partum depression allegedly stabbed her two children then herself in their house in Barangay Pantay Bata here on Saturday night, June 6.
Initial investigation disclosed that a neighbor of the victims – Brenda, mother, and children Brianna and Faith – heard a voice begging for help from the house.
The neighbor sought assistance from barangay officials who discovered the victims lying on a bed with multiple stab wounds. They were taken to separate hospitals.
Investigation added Brenda is believed to be suffering from post-partum depression when she stabbed her children. Post-partum depression is a serious mental health condition that some women can experience after giving birth.
Brenda's live-in partner was not at their house when the incident happened at around 6 p.m. Police are conducting follow-up investigation.
