Fire hits residential area in Sta. Cruz, Manila

A fire broke out in a residential area along Felix Huertas Street, corner Yuseco Street in Sta. Cruz, Manila, early Sunday morning, June 7, prompting firefighters to rush to the scene.
According to initial reports, the blaze occurred in front of the Vertex One condominium complex and Cecilio Apostol Elementary School.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire was declared under first alarm at around 3:10 a.m. as firefighters worked to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby houses in the densely populated community.
Fire trucks from various volunteer and government fire brigades responded to the incident and immediately launched fire suppression operations.
As of posting time, authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire and the extent of the damage.
Information regarding possible injuries, casualties, or displaced residents was not immediately available.
The BFP continues its investigation into the incident while firefighters remain on site to ensure the blaze is fully contained.
