Fire razed three houses and affected 17 individuals before midnight on Saturday, June 6, in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) Reservation in Barangay Poblacion, Muntinlupa City.
The blaze affected four families in Vicar Village, according to the Muntinlupa City government.
The Muntinlupa City government’s Social Services Department (SSD) provided the fire victims with food and emergency kits.
These include family kits consisting of shirts, shorts, underwear, slippers and towels; kitchen kits, including forks and spoons, frying pan, pot, plates, stove and water container; sleeping kits consisting of mosquito nets, mats, pillows, blankets and folding beds; and hygiene kits, including toothbrushes, toothpastes, soap, shampoo and diapers.
For the food relief, the families were given 50-kilo sacks of rice, assorted canned goods, sugar and coffee.
The SSD conducted mapping and assessment and issued disaster cards to the families. It also coordinated with Barangay Poblacion for the provision of tents.
Mayor Ruffy Biazon assured families that financial assistance will be given to them and a referral to other agencies for other needs.
The fire was extinguished at 12:22 a.m.
