Senator Erwin Tulfo will lead the resumption of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s investigation into the anomalous flood control projects on Monday, June 8.
Tulfo, in an interview last Friday, had said that his committee will invite the 18 former military personnel who claimed to have delivered kickbacks to several top government officials, and also former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
The senator said these personalities, together with other witnesses and resource persons would also be invited by the legitimate panel which he now leads.
“We will invite them…I’m compelling them to attend. Otherwise, the blue ribbon will file contempt charges,” Tulfo said.
Last week, the camp of Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano pushed through with the investigation on the flood control scam, with his sister Sen. Pia Cayetano, whom his bloc insists is still the blue ribbon panel chief.
This, even after 12 senators moved to place Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian as the Senate President Pro Tempore and eventually named his as the acting Senate President.
The Gatchalian-led bloc assigned Tulfo to head the blue ribbon committee.
Earlier, Tulfo said the Cayetano-led probe was no official hearing, saying the legitimate investigation would be led by him.
In Monday’s hearing, Tulfo said all senators, including the group of Cayetano, will also be invited to the hearing.
