Octogenarian beaten to death by 43-year-old son

CEBU CITY – An elderly man was beaten to death by his 43-year-old son in Barangay Basak, Badian town, Cebu province on Thursday morning, June 4.
Police identified the victim as Nemecio Benemerito Libron, 82.
Libron suffered severe head injuries inflicted by his son Climaco Espanol Libron, a tricycle driver.
Police said the father and son got into a heated argument over a still unknown reason.
At the height of the argument, Climaco took a piece of wood and repeatedly struck his father’s head, police said. The victim died on the spot.
The suspect fled after the incident but was eventually arrested in his home in Barangay Taytay in Badian.
