Imelda Schweighart reveals miscarriage while competing in MGI All Stars
Filipina-German beauty queen Imelda Schweighart has shared the heartbreaking news of her miscarriage while competing in the recently concluded Miss Grand International (MGI) All Stars pageant in Thailand.
The beauty queen posted a series of photos on Instagram with her partner, surfer Rafael Thibault, accompanied by a heartfelt message dedicated to him.
"Even though I'm recovering from something big right now, I know we'll get through this [sic]," she wrote. "Losing our baby might have been the hardest part of joining this competition, but in God's timing, we will have one again."
Imelda was among the contestants in the inaugural MGI All Stars competition, which brought together beauty queens from various local and international pageants.
During the competition, Imelda chose not to publicly disclose that she was pregnant.
In the same post, she expressed gratitude to her boyfriend for supporting her passion for pageantry and, in turn, reaffirmed her support for his surfing career.
"I support your surfing, you support my pageantry. Both are a million-dollar lifestyle therefore my adrenaline rush is quenched for a while. The beach is waiting. Cant [sic] wait to marvel at sunsets watching you play. I love you, dummy," Imelda wrote.
The revelation came shortly after the conclusion of the inaugural MGI All Stars pageant in Bangkok on Saturday. Colombia's Vanessa Pulgarin was crowned the competition's first-ever winner, surpassing 55 other contestants. The Philippines' Gazini Ganados, meanwhile, secured a spot in the Top 5.
Joining Ganados and Imelda were three other Filipina representatives. Fuschia Anne Ravena advanced to the Top 18, while Alexia Nuñez and Keylyn Trajano also competed for the Philippines.
