Fire hits Justo Lukban Elementary School classroom in Manila

A fire broke out in a Grade 2 classroom on the second floor of Justo Lukban Elementary School in Paco, Manila, on Thursday night, June 4.
The Manila Police District (MPD) said the fire was reported at around 8:40 p.m. at the school building on Apacible Street in Barangay 674. It was extinguished at around 8:53 p.m.
Initial investigation showed that the school security guard noticed black smoke coming from the second floor after being alerted by motorists honking their vehicles in front of the school.
The guard immediately called nearby Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel in Paco, who responded to the scene.
Personnel from the Paz Police Community Precinct also arrived to provide perimeter security and crowd control.
No casualties were reported.
The cause of the fire and the cost of damage have yet to be determined by authorities.
