LUCENA CITY, Quezon – One-hundred seventeen security officers collaborated with the Quezon police to strengthen crime prevention initiatives and enhance public safety in a forum on Wednesday, June 3, at the provincial capitol here.
Police Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police director, said that security officers came from various security agencies, commercial establishments, and business sectors in the province.
Albacea underscored the significance of fostering stronger partnerships between law enforcement and security practitioners to create a safer and more secure environment for businesses and the public.
Participants discussed emerging security challenges, current crime trends, and best practices in crime prevention and response, and promoted the exchange of valuable insights and strengthened coordination mechanisms among stakeholders tasked with safeguarding lives and properties.
The forum with the theme – “Together Against Theft: A Security and Police Collaboration Forum” – served as a vital platform for collaboration and information sharing to address theft, shoplifting, and other property-related offenses, and reinforced the shared commitment of the Philippine National Police and the private security industry to proactive security measures, effective information sharing, and collective action against criminal activities.
Police Col. Maximo Sebastian Jr, acting chief of the regional staff of PRO 4-A, emphasized the indispensable role of the private security sector as a force multiplier and highlighted the importance of sustained police-security collaboration in preventing crimes and maintaining peace and order within communities.
Albacea said that the Quezon Police Provincial Office remains steadfast in building stronger partnerships, promoting community engagement, and advancing its mission of ensuring a safer, more secure, and crime-resilient province.
