Jonvic denies claims he tried to block Pia, Robin from entering Senate
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla denied that he tried to block two senators and 18 former soldiers from entering the Senate on Thursday, June 4.
Remulla issued the clarification after Sen. Pia Cayetano claimed that she and the resource persons for the flood control hearing were blocked on their way to the session hall.
Videos showing Remulla being pushed by Sen. Robin Padilla have been circulating on social media, with some pro-Duterte netizens mocking the DILG Secretary for allegedly being no match to the former actor.
But Remulla said he had no intention to block the group of Cayetano and Padilla during that time.
“I was walking out when I was pushed aside,” said Remulla.
He said there was no attempt to block them as he was alone at that time.
“How can I do that? I was alone,” said Remulla when asked if there was an intention on his part to block the senators and their resource persons.
