A repeat drug offender and his cohort were arrested after police seized more than ₱2.2 million worth of shabu from them in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Del Monte, Quezon City, before dawn on Wednesday, June 3.
The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the operation was carried out at around 2:30 a.m. by operatives of Masambong Police Station (PS2) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency–NCR (PDEA-NCR).
Authorities said a poseur-buyer was able to purchase ₱30,000 worth of shabu from one of the suspects before police moved in following a pre-arranged signal.
The suspects were identified as aliases “Jordan,” 31, of Barangay Damayan, and his cohort “Jonas,” 31, of Barangay Del Monte, both in Quezon City.
Seized during the operation were 333.61 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱2,268,548, a Realme smartphone, a black Yamaha NMAX motorcycle, a keyless motorcycle device, an eco-bag, a Chinese tea package allegedly used as drug packaging, and the marked buy-bust money.
Police investigators said record verification showed that alias “Jordan” had a prior arrest in 2015 for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The suspects are now under police custody and will face charges for violations of Sections 5 and 11 of RA 9165 before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
QCPD chief Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio said the anti-drug campaign will continue, focusing particularly on street-level drug personalities in the city.
