Professional demeanor maintained during Senate incident with Cayetano, Remulla says

Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla maintained that he meant no disrespect during a confrontation with Senate President Alan Peter Cayetano.
The incident happened during the arrest of Sen. Jinggoy Estrada at the Senate for a case of plunder and it was caught in the video that Remulla raised his voice as Cayetano continued to insist that no senators must be arrested inside.
“There was tension but it was not over blown. If you review all the videos, I only raised my voice only once,” said Remulla.
During the incident, Remulla was quoted saying that the Senate lost the privilege of senators not being arrested inside the premises after the escape of Sen. Ronald dela Rosa on May 14.
The alleged treatment of Cayetano did not sit well with Sen. Rodante Marcoleta who raised the issue in hitting minority senators.
Sen. Panfilo Lacson, however, hit back at Marcoleta and said that they were thankful that Remulla did not hit Cayetano for his behavior.
For his part, Remulla said he respects the feelings of Marcoleta.
“However, I maintain that I maintained a professional demeanor during the entire incident,” he said.
