81 families seek shelter in evacuation center after Pasig fire
The Pasig City government reported that 81 families, or 291 individuals, are temporarily staying in an evacuation center after a fire broke out in a residential area in Barangay Maybunga on Tuesday night, June 2.

Authorities said the figures were as of 3 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, while validation is still ongoing to determine the total number of affected families.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) said the fire started along Westbank Road at 9:57 p.m., reached the second alarm at 10:04 p.m., and was extinguished at around 1:14 a.m. on Wednesday.
Around 30 houses made of light materials were reportedly affected.
Some of the affected residents were not able to save their belongings, while others managed to rescue their pets.
The affected families are currently staying at the Westbank Community Center and were provided with hot meals, hygiene and sleeping kits, as well as food and non-food packs.
Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire.
