3,500 personnel to secure June 8 school opening in Central Luzon
CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO-3) has deployed 3,537 personnel across the region in preparation for the opening of classes on June 8 as part of its Oplan Balik-Eskwela 2026 initiative.
In a Wednesday statement, the PRO-3 said the security force has mobilized to ensure the safety of students, teachers, and school personnel across 4,376 public and private schools throughout the region.
The deployment includes 1,911 police officers, 299 personnel from various government agencies, and 1,327 force multipliers.
To strengthen security measures, PRO-3 has established 279 police assistance desks and will deploy 777 mobile patrols and 517 foot patrols in strategic locations, including school zones, transportation terminals, and major thoroughfares.
PRO-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez assured the public that all police units have been directed to maintain maximum visibility and readiness to respond to any incidents during the school opening period.
“As classes resume, our police officers will be where they are needed most to ensure the safety of our learners and provide peace of mind to parents and teachers,” Mendez said.
He also emphasized the need for close coordination among local government units, school authorities, and community partners to ensure a successful opening of classes across the region. (With PNA)
