Pasig cops involved in fatal anti-drug operation disarmed, reassigned
The Pasig City Police Station on Tuesday, June 2, said the operatives and sub-station commander involved in the anti-illegal drugs operation that resulted in the death of a man in Barangay Kalawaan have been disarmed and reassigned amid a motu proprio investigation into alleged irregularities during the operation.

The operation was conducted on Sunday night, May 31, during which the alleged drug suspect was fatally shot, leading to allegations of irregularities in the conduct of the operation.
“In line with the ongoing moto propio investigation against the police operatives involved in the recent anti-illegal drugs operation in Brgy Kalawaan, Pasig City, said operatives and the sub-station commander were already disarmed and reassigned in the Station Personnel Holding and Accounting Section to ensure their participation and availability during the investigation,” Pasig police said.
The station reiterated that all police operations are conducted in accordance with the established Police Operational Procedures and other related policies and guidelines.
“Personnel are continuously reminded to observe professionalism and accountability,” it stated.
Authorities said that if violations of existing rules are established, appropriate administrative actions will be taken in accordance with applicable regulations and will be treated with the utmost seriousness, transparency, and due process.
They added that appropriate assistance was also extended to the family of the shot suspect in the filing of charges against the police operatives if warranted.
“Pasig PNP assures the public that we shall leave no stone unturned and no cover-up shall happen in this investigation to uphold the rule of law with the observance of due process to eventually deliver justice where it is owed,” the Pasig CPS said.

Meanwhile, new Eastern Police District (EPD) Officer-in-Charge Brig. Gen. Melecio M. Buslig Jr. said the district maintains a policy of accountability and professionalism among its ranks, adding that if any violation of established operational procedures, policies, or laws is found, appropriate administrative and other corresponding actions will be taken without hesitation and in accordance with existing regulations.
“We assure the public that the Eastern Police District remains committed to transparency, due process, and the lawful conduct of police operations in the pursuit of public safety and justice,” he emphasized.
