P5.8-M cocaine discovered in Quezon

PATNANUNGAN, Quezon – A brick of suspected cocaine was discovered by a fisherman in the seashore of Sitio Katmon, Barangay Busdak, here on Monday, June 1.
Police Col. Romulo Albacea, Quezon police director, said Dennis Sabido voluntarily turned over a plastic bag containing the contraband with an estimated weight of 1.1 kilos.
Albacea added it was valued at P5,871,340 based on Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) standard drug price.
Sabido discovered the item covered in sand and seaweeds while catching crabs about 10 a.m.
It will be submitted to the Laguna Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
Follow-up investigation is ongoing.
